Hong Kong (DATE) – On Sunday 26 August 2012, Philanthropic adventurer Morgan Parker’s triumphant expedition from Hong Kong to Australia premieres on National Geographic Channel.
The 10 episode “Wheel2Wheel” series will track Parker’s 25,000 kilometre 125 day journey through Asia to showcase the work of ten charitable organizations tackling some of the world’s most pressing humanitarian issues.
Filmed in HD, the series is visually breathtaking, inspiring, educational, and always entertaining. It’s full of never-seen-before locations and remarkable interviews revealing untold stories. Wheel2Wheel will captivate viewers from beginning to end.

This innovative adventure travel show will broadcast weekly on the Nat Geo Adventure channel (and the National Geographic Channel in Hong Kong) at 8:00 pm on Sunday nights across 21 countries throughout Asia, the Middle-East, Australia and New Zealand.

Morgan Parker, a successful corporate executive based in Hong Kong
is a recognized, high profile figure in the Asian real estate industry. During his 15 years in the region with Morgan Stanley, Macquarie Bank, Lend Lease and most recently as President of US-listed retail developer Taubman Asia; his corporate achievements have propelled him to board positions with numerous industry bodies.
Morgan’s philanthropic interests are born out of desire to find a more active and engaged approach to charity, combined with a personal goal of testing his limits in the name of humanity. He has committed himself to Wheel2Wheel’s first expedition by putting aside 3 years of his corporate life to prepare for and complete the enduro-adventure, then executive produce the ten episode documentary television series.
More about the 1st Expedition –
On 1 March 2011, Morgan Parker embarked on a 125 day expedition through some of the most beautiful and at times most inhospitable terrain in the world, aboard a BMW F800GS enduro-motorcycle. The expedition commenced from Morgan’s home of Hong Kong, continuing into China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Timor Leste and finally, Australia. The epic adventure finished in Morgan’s birthplace of Brisbane.
Along the way, Morgan visited each of the ten carefully selected charitable organisations supported by Wheel2Wheel. Morgan and his team met, interviewed and filmed the principals and beneficiaries of each organisation, discussing the challenges and opportunities for the future, whilst gathering more knowledge on the issues.
The journey, filmed by Hong Kong based Siren Films, is a story to fill the senses: from the chaos of crowded, polluted urban metropolises, the desolation of obscure dirt roads, the thrill and grandeur of mountain terrain, the serenity of coastal vistas, and the vastness of the Australian Outback. Morgan travelled past and through national monuments, sacred sites, precious rainforests and natural disaster areas – from cities of millions to villages of a few.
The logistics of the journey were enormous from visas to carnets, border crossings in communist countries, water crossings from island to island, bike servicing and break downs, security concerns, unexpected encounters, not too mention the physical and mental challenge of being in the saddle for 125 days.
The expedition and Wheel2Wheel’s mission has received tremendous support globally with media and online resources. Morgan was greeted by Heads of State, United Nations senior representatives and political leaders throughout his expedition. Wheel2Wheel’s Facebook page has over 30,000 fans, its website and YouTube channel have attracted over a million visitors and its popularity continues to grow to this day.
