The Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO) is organising a fund-raising and public education campaign aimed at supporting and empowering the lives of abused women.
The campaign, called “You Can Make A Difference (MAD) Now!”, is geared at generating public awareness on the rising number of women in violent relationships who need help and support.
WAO’s Refuge provides a safe place for survivors of domestic violence, single mothers and abused migrant women, while its Child Care Centre (CCC) provides full-time care for children of former residents of the Refuge who are getting their lives back on track.
WAO requires RM1mil each year to support its Refuge and CCC. To raise this amount for the year, WAO has embarked on the You Can Make a Difference (MAD) Now! Campaign to raise RM300,000 by 31 Dec.
The You Can Make a Difference (MAD) Now! campaign will see survivors sharing real-life experiences and informing the public of the immediate difference they can make in these women’s lives.
To make a donation, deposit your cheque or cash into WAO’s savings account at Public Bank Berhad, account number: 4-5230685-13. Cheques should be made payable to Women’s Aid Organisation and sent to P.O. Box 493, Jalan Sultan, 46760 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
